ORI welcomes in-kind donations from anywhere in the world. While we are grateful for all offers of assistance, we need to ensure that proposed donations are appropriate to our needs and will involve minimal staff time. For that reason, we have the following guidelines on in-kind donations:
- ORI staff must approve all donations before they are sent. Please email Christine Chiu with a description of the item(s) you would like to donate.
- Donations must be sent at your expense to our New York office:
Orphans of Rwanda
c/o The Heckscher Foundation for Children
123 E. 70th St.
New York, NY 10021
- Unless otherwise specifically approved, donations must be in good repair and not require further expense in order to be used.
- At this time, we are particularly in need of in-kind donations of the following items:
· Fully-functioning laptop and desktop computers
· We are looking for PCs that are no more than 3 years old, with half a GB of RAM and an Intel processor.
· Wireless cards
· USB flash disks
· Calculators
· USB flashdisks
· Laptop bags
Because ORI works primarily with students aged 19-29, it does not accept donations intended for younger children (e.g. clothes, toys). However, several ORI partners work directly with primary and secondary school age children. If you would like to make a donation to one of our partners please contact them directly:
