ORI welcomes in-kind donations from anywhere in the world. By supplying our students with the resources they need, in-kind donations help us keep our indirect costs down, allowing us to allocate more funds directly to student scholarships and programs. Our students are tremendously grateful for your support, and with their help we have composed a wish-list of items that our students need:
Please read the following guidelines before making your donation: ORI staff must approve all donations before they are sent. Please email Becca Schendel (becca.schendel@orphansofrwanda.org) with a description of the item(s) you would like to donate. Donations must be sent (shipping not included) to our New York office: Orphans of Rwanda Unless otherwise specifically approved, donations must be in good repair and not require further expense in order to be used. Because ORI works primarily with students aged 19-29, it does not accept donations intended for younger children (e.g. clothes, toys). However, several ORI partners work directly with primary and secondary school age children. If you would like to make a donation to one of our partners please contact them directly:
If you have any further questions about making an in-kind donation to ORI, please email Becca Schendel at becca.schendel@orphansofrwanda.org Thank you for your support! Charitable Gifts Weddings A number of couples have unselfishly opted to mark their weddings by asking family members and guests to make a donation to ORI in lieu of a wedding gift. To create a charity wedding registry, please visit www.justgive.org. Memorials Families mourning a recent loss have decided to memorialize their loved one by asking that contributions be made in his or her name to ORI in lieu of flowers. Birthdays, Anniversaries and Holiday Gifts Many individuals have asked family and friends to give to ORI rather than spend money on tangible birthday or holiday gifts. And some donors have chosen on their own to honor a relative or friend in that manner (we will send a grateful acknowledgment to any person you designate). |
